Rock 'n' Roll High School

Like a punk ancestor of Sister Act, Rock 'n' Roll High School is one of those movies that you can enjoy just as much by fast-forwarding to the musical numbers. But if you have a few friends and beers with you, the whole thing can be a pretty great investment of your evening.

You can guess the entire plot from one look at the cover art, but Rock 'n' Roll High School remains one of the great high school movies simply because it has Roger Corman, P. J. Soles and of course the Ramones, giving their best shot at acting ("Things sure have changed since we got kicked out of high school," says Joey) and donating one of the best rock shows in movie history. As a concert movie, it's better than any footage you can find of them at CBGB.
