Wild Zero

Guitar Wolf is a feedback-heavy psychobilly power trio who dress like Danny Zuko and thrash like Motörhead. If you've heard any one of their albums, you've heard all of them, but each of their LPs provide a consistent Everything Louder Than Everything Else thrill. Live, guitarist Seiji blends Elvis and Lemmy's stage moves into one of the most exhilarating club performances that you'll ever see. If you missed your chance to see the Ramones, Guitar Wolf might be as close as you're going to get.

Guitar Wolf has also starred in Wild Zero, probably the most riveting Japanese horror/sci-fi/action/musical film of all time. Alongside the zombies, aliens and a lowly protagonist named Ace, the band cooks up enough action to rank with the works of Sam Raimi, Robert Rodriguez and George Romero. Wild Zero also claims the best Guitar Wolf performances your money can rent and a surprisingly progressive love story. Lest your pint runneth over, the DVD menu includes its own drinking game ("Anyone drinks, Anyone combs their hair, A head explodes, Fire shoots out of anything, Anyone says ROCK AND ROLL.") You'll need to watch it twice.
