Feist's music has never really interested me, but like Norah Jones, she is clearly a gifted musician, even while expressing her talents with background pop-rock. That being said, I'm happy that she's put out a 7" for Record Store Day, and thrilled that said single was a split with Mastodon that featured both artists covering each other. It's not a novelty--both artists have torn down their perceived comfort zones and pulled out excellent songs. Maybe I was wrong about Feist.

Feist: incredibly adorable. One time Jess Besack and I saw her play and all the hearts were a-flutter. Including, I'm sure, that of the usher who wouldn't let us take our beers inside and instead watched, laughing as we chugged them while making sour faces.
I believe it! She's flutter-worthy.
