With Kendrick Lamar's dazzling Super Bowl performance over the weekend, it's a good time to revisit the Ice-T and Kendrick analysis in Sequoia Maner's terrific 33⅓ book on To Pimp a Butterfly. The quotes are from Ice's 1994 book The Ice Opinion, of which Sequoia told me, "This classic book has definitely shaped my ear and pen."
