Deftones, "Jump"

I wouldn't have guessed that Kris Kross's music had much to do with the Deftones, who were all in their teens and 20s when "Jump" broke, and were presumably already into Faith No More. Yet here they are, blowing minds again in St. Louis with a tribute to the late Chris Kelly during "Engine No. 9." Turns out that "Jump" packs a wallop under an alterna-metal arrangement. You wouldn't be able to say the same thing about Naughty by Nature or Arrested Development.
