Detroit Rock City

In the tradition of Bill & Ted and Wayne & Garth came Hawk, Lex, Trip and Jam, the four young headbangers at the heart of Detroit Rock City. The "plot" about a team of high school outcasts on their way to their first ever Kiss concert is basically there to sew together a series of improbable hijinks leading up to Greatest Show on Earth, but few movies have ever so thoroughly captured the camaraderie that comes with being a teenager in love with rock music, and most of them aren't this funny. A flop when released in 1999, Detroit Rock City has aged better than nearly every American comedy that outperformed it at the box office at the time (Who watches Meet the Parents or Scary Movie anymore?). Plus, the soundtrack is almost perfect.
