Metalhead of the Day: Rachel Maddow

Scroll through the interwebs and you'll find no shortage of terrible band interviews. More often than not, interviewers are paired with bands that they know nothing about. If it's mainstream media, the reporter is usually too self-absorbed to care.

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow is an exception, and she's sharp enough to be worth watching regularly. I nearly jumped for joy when she revealed that she is also a metalhead:

I don't know if "Enter Sandman" really is her ringtone, but her story about hearing Master of Puppets for the first time in high school and connecting is too funny to not be genuine. Her guest is Lars Ulrich, who, for all his publicized faults, is a consistently solid interview. Check it out.

Rachel Maddow gets down to Metallica. Who can blame her?
